Plus, the geographical diversity of the state means that every park has something slightly different to offer. For instance, Maryland extends out into the ocean. Close to the waterfront, you can find parks like Assateague Island. In the North and West, you have the Appalachian Mountains. The portion of the trail that crosses through Maryland is ideal for hiking, camping, and just otherwise exploring. There are also many museums in Maryland, again due to its location right next to the capital.

You also have even more famous museums, like the Smithsonian American Art Museum, right close by. The entire oceanfront of Maryland is made up of stunning beaches. A couple everyone needs to visit are Ocean City and Assateague Island.

If you enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, or anything else related to the beach scene, you will like living in Maryland. Discover your favorite beach and return to it time and again or explore all the beaches in the state.

Most residents in Maryland root for the Ravens, but many residents who live near DC are Redskins fans. Whichever team you choose, the likelihood is that at least some of your neighbors will also be fans. My main concern is reading all of the postings from others and reading about all the crime drugs and murders in the area. I'm open to renting an apartment or townhouse but would prefer a house.

I have children and would like a safe neighborhood with good schools. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if you'll find a single family house for that price in Frederick city, though possibly in the far north or west parts of the county. Townhomes may be more realistic in that price range, but even those sometimes rent for higher prices in the nicer communities. There is a long waiting list for services in Maryland but The Arc will be able to give you some school advocacy information and contact with local autism support groups. Stay away from New Market Elementary School!!! They did our high-functioning autistic child a HUGE disservice this year. This place is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. It's not just holiday events here. From farmers markets to fireworks, this town is the host of many fun events where the community can get together and mingle.
